Shaggy Mum Flowers on “Jelly Doughnut” Cupcakes

24 Aug

This time we used too many tips for me to remember off-hand. I’ve been known to have the worst memory in mankind…

We did practice Rosettes (Tip #16 or #18) which I love! So easy, fast and pretty.

The project for the day, however, was Shaggy Mums on cupcakes.
Mine didn’t turn out half bad :). Yay!

The horrible part of this tale is that I’m on a no-carb/sugar/anything-that’s-worth-eating diet until Saturday. UGH. So I don’t even get to taste one!

I did use the idea I spoke about in my last post. So the steps were:
– Bake Cupcakes
– Let them COOL
– Pipe Grape Jelly (reduced sugar version… Ssshhh. Don’t tell the BF) into the cupcakes. -> Be careful not to squeeze too hard or for too long or what you think must be a cupcake with no center, is really a cupcake with jelly exploding out of the bottom of it, visible through the paper cup!
– Pipe White Buttercream icing onto the whole cupcake
– Pipe on 3 leaves -> I LOVE the Leaf Tip! Soooo awesome, and easy to use. Unfortunately the consistency of my icing was too thin, so my leaves don’t look as defined as they should 😦
– Use Tip #233 ( I think) to do the flower. Looks like spaghetti!

That’s it! Super easy and super cute!

🙂

Now off to bed so I resist biting into one!
